I have done runs to Largo Library. it is a good run. I can run to the library and back to my sister’s home in 55 minutes. I think that is pretty good. i want to keep my running up in order to keep healthy. I need many runs though. i do want to have some more runs in my life to keep the runs fresh and not have them be the same. I like to run in different towns also.
Run to Largo Library
January 12, 2009Meeting New Neighbors
January 8, 2009Chip and I met new neighbors last night. They have actually been here since October, but this is the first time I have met them. Billy and Amber. They own Rags. They are a young couple in their 20′s. They are engaged to be married this year. Amber is a nice girl. She is finishing school soon. Billy works at an automotive shop. I was talking to them till about 10:30 last night. One of our neighbors was cooking out on a grill. It was a nice night. I had to go in eventually because it was getting cold. I am sure we will see them around.
Time to myself today
December 30, 2008After work, I will hopefully have some time to myself and to just relax. It seems like I am always having to do something. I am going to enjoy this time. The house will be quiet. It will be Brandie and me. Chip has to go and pick up supplies. he can also visit with his sister on his own. We need time with our family by ourselves sometimes.
I enjoy my time with Sue, I know that. So, I am counting the minutes till I can be finished and do what I want to do.
Bell ringing ends Wed.
December 22, 2008Bell ringing ends this week. I will be glad.
It is long hours. You are out there for 8 and a half
hours, or 7 and a half hours depending on the day.
It is a great organization, but standing outside
makes for a long day. It ends Christmas Eve.
I am glad for the opportunity to do this though.
I am really not an outdoors type person. I need
work indoors. I don’t know if I will be doing this
next year or not.
Dog’s first day together
December 15, 2008
Yesterday,on the 14th was Brandie and Annie’s
1st day together. We went to the Flea market.
They had each other for company, which I
was glad for. When we got home, they were all
excited. They were jumping all over us. I hope
their day was okay. I’m sure Annie was running
around and checking things out. Brandie was
probably trying to keep her in line. It was too
much having both of them at the Market, so that
is why they stayed home. It was okay though.
I did not want Annie alone, especially on her
first day with us. I will be home for the most part
today. I want to watch and see how they are.
Dog’s get left at home all the time though.
At least you can do this with them. You can’t even
think about leaving a child. Whoever does this,
can not think too much of them. If they are old
enough that is another thing.
New Dashboard
December 8, 2008WordPress has a new Dasahboard design. It
took some getting used to. I guess change
will happen no matter what. This design is still
close to the same. It did take some time getting
used to. If w did not have change. The world
will have been the same from the beginning.
This dashboard has every thing, it is in
different spots, some of the items. The guy who came
up with the design has a lot of imagination, I believe
You have to have creative ability also/ I know
when we all use this enough, it will get easier.
This just came in to effect on December 5th.
This is when I discovered it.
Sand candles
December 2, 2008There was another project out there which we did. We made sand candles. You dig a hole in the sand and you place a wick and the melted wax in the hole. You cover the hole and wait like 12 hours. After waiting and letting it harden, you can pull it from the sand and have a diffrent kind of a candle. This was another girlscout project. I gave this to my mom as a gift. She thought that was a very clever and neat idea. You still see sand candles today. They are a fairly easy project. Adult supervision is needed because of the hot wax though. I have seen some sand candles in the Keys. I gues you could make a lot of them if you had a nice sandy area near by. Just watch the roots. Anything which is in the hole, will be in the candle as well.
Rainy day blues
November 25, 2008I know we need rain, but some times when it rains all day you can get the rainy day blues. When there is not a thing on T.V it gets boring trying to find things to do. I guess there is always some thing in your home that you can get done. If I can’t think of any thing, I often just lie down and get extra sleep. When you have kids, they want to be entertained. If they have lots of fun toys, they can amuze themselves. Children a certain age cannot always amuse themselves for long though. On rainy days, or sunny for that matter, my sister ould always find some thing to read. She could sit and read for hours. This is one of the few things that she could sit still for. She was moving around otherwise.
waterskiing/ Red as a lobster
November 20, 2008My brother went water skiing one time and came home so sun burned that he could hardly move around. He should have known not to go out without protection on. Ken is a blonde and did not have the type of skin that tanned the best. When he got home, we had to put some thing on his burns. He slept with fans on and ice packs to cool him down. The only place that was not red was where he wore his suit. I felt sorry for him. It took a while for him to get better. We thought he might have sun poisoning. He did not have this though. I know that for a few days, he was still very much in pain. We were all glad when he started peeling and that new skin was coming up. He has had lots of burns since then, but none like the, “lobster burn.”
Holiday Baking
November 10, 2008Holiday baking is a huge tradition in thousands of homes. People like to prepare special things they know how to do during these holidays as well as traditional items. Holiday baking occurs during several different days of the year. People bake cookies to exchange with their friends and family. We always made sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies with kisses chocolates on top. We also made fudge and divinity. There are many different kinds of pies and cakes made during the holidays. Pumpkin and pecan pies are usually for T-giving and Christmas. It is fun to get together with friends and family and doing the baking together. You have more help with the cleanup. Holiday baking can get a little messy, but if you try to clean up as you go, it is not too bad. When I was growing up, my mom would put the ingredients in and we would mix them. When we were old enough to read a recpe, we helped with the measuring as well. Enjoy holiday baking, or atleast the end results, the goodies
